Scots Dike, Yorkshire
Scots Dike is an early mediæval linear earthwork near Aske Hall, Yorkshire, in the North Riding. The monument includes a bank 40ft wide and up to 7ft high. Scots Dyke is believed to date from the sixth and seventh centuries. Linear earthworks were used to divide territory for military, social, economic and political purposes. It is within the council area of North Yorkshire.
