Scawby Hall, Lincolnshire
Scawby Hall is a Jacobean manor house in Scawby, Lincolnshire, in the Parts of Lindsey. It was first begun by Richard Nelthorpe in 1603 and has been lived in by members of the Nelthorpe family ever since. The house has been expanded and remodelled by successive generations, reflecting changing architectural styles while keeping its core Jacobean charm, including chimney stacks and gabled roofs. The house has a significant collection of paintings, including some by George Stubbs, the horse painter, along with works by Sir Thomas Lawrence and engravings by Stubbs. There is also a 3 acre kitchen garden. It is within the council area of North Lincolnshire.
