Sawley Abbey, Yorkshire
Sawley Abbey is a ruined Cisterican abbey in Sawley, Yorkshire, in the West Riding. It was created as a daughter-house of Newminster Abbey in 1149 and was dissolved in 1536. The most visible remains are the ruins of the church and immediately attached buildings. The remaining structures within the core area of the abbey survive as low walls. The monument is within the council area of Ribble Valley (Lancashire).
