Sandal Magna, Yorkshire
Sandal Magna (often just Sandal) is a village in Yorkshire, in the West Riding. It lies to the south of Wakefield, of which it forms a suburb. The name 'Sandal' is sometimes used to refer to the wider suburban area around the original village of Sandal Magna. Sandal Castle is a ruined mediæval castle which was used as a location by Shakespeare in Henry VI Part III. The village is within the council area of Wakefield.
