Rudda Howes, Yorkshire
Rudda Howes are two adjacent prehistoric round barrows near Staintondale, Yorkshire, in the North Riding. Each barrow has an earth and stone mound standing 80ft apart. The western mound measures 62ft in diameter and is 1ft 6in high. The eastern mound has been partly reduced by agricultural activity and measures 48ft in diameter and is about 1ft high. The barrows are part of a group of similar monuments lying between the sea and the predominantly heather covered moorland characteristic of the North York Moors lying to the east. The monument is within the council area of North Yorkshire.
