Royal Tunbridge Wells, Kent

Royal Tunbrdige Wells is a town in Kent. The town came into being as a spa in Georgian times and had its heyday as a tourist resort under Richard (Beau) Nash when the Pantiles and its chalybeate spring attracted visitors who wished to take the waters. The town remains a popular tourist destination. Most of the old town lies in Kent, though the Kent / Sussex border runs through the original centre of the town. The modern suburbs of Broadwater Down and Ramslye lie on the Sussex side of the border. The town is within the council area of Tunbridge Wells (Kent).
