Rothern Bridge, Devon

Rothern Bridge is an early 15th-century bridge across the River Torridge near Great Torrington, Devon. It is a multi-span bridge of four arches. The earliest surviving fabric of the bridge probably dates from the early 15th century. It was widened in the early 19th century with new arches springing from the cutwaters. In 1928 the bridge was rendered redundant when the adjacent Rolle Bridge was constructed and the road (A386) diverted over the new bridge. The bridge is within the council area of Torridge (Devon).
