Ross Castle Hillfort, Northumberland
Ros Castle (aka Ross Castle Hillfort) are the remains of a univallate hillfort in Northumberland. It is of an Iron Age date and situated on the summit of a 1,000 feet high hill, the highest of the Chillingahm Hills range. The summit is marked by a triangulation station and nearby there is a walk-in toposcope built into the wall with four separate plaques. The view is panoramic and very extensive. On a clear day a total of seven castles can be seen from the summit. It is within the council area of Northumberland.
