Rona, Ross-shire
Rona (Scottish Gaelic: Rònaidh) is an uninhabited island in the North Atlantic, forming part of Ross-shire. It is sometimes known as North Rona to distinguish it from Rona in the Inner Hebrides. St Ronan founded a small monastic community on the island and was reputedly buried here. The ruins of an early Christian oratory, St Ronan's Church (Teampall Naoimh Ronain), remain. The island is within the council area of Na h-Eileanan an Iar CA.
