Rogerstone, Monmouthshire

Rogerstone (Welsh: Tŷ-du) is a large suburban village situated to the west of Newport, Monmouthshire. The village dates back to Norman times. Rogerstone Castle was built in the early 12th century. It remained a small rural village until the early 20th century when steel works and railway sidings saw it grow considerably. Since the late 20th century the village has seen large-scale suburban housing and trading estate development. The village is within the council area of Newport.
