Roedean is a village to the east of Brighton, Sussex. Roedean is known for Roedean School, which opened at this site in 1898, occupying new buildings designed by Sir John Simpson. Roedean was a tiny hamlet at the time the school opened. Most of the housing now in Roedean dates from the 20th century. It is within the council area of Brighton and hove.
