Robroyston, Lanarkshire

Robroyston is a former village which is now an urban district in the north-east of the Glasgow conurbation, in Lanarkshire. Robroyston village was developed from a small mining settlement during the 1930s. Throughout the 1990s, large-scale housing developments were undertaken to the north-east of the original village. Robroyston House was the site where John de Menteith turned William Wallace over to English soldiers. The site is marked by a Celtic Cross. Robroyston is within the council area of City of Glasgow.
