Ringstead, Dorset
Ringstead is a hamlet and a deserted mediæval village overlooking Weymouth Bay in Dorset. The village is believed to have been abandoned by the 16th century. The church and cemetery were later converted into Glebe Cottage. The abandoned settlement includes two separate areas of clustered house platforms, along with the church and cemetery. In the 20th century, an area of housing was developed by the coast around Myrtle Cottage, this forming the present-day hamlet of Ringstead. The site is within the council area of Dorset.
