Richborough, Kent

Richborough is a hamlet in Kent. Richborough was an important natural harbour and is believed to be the landing place of the Roman invasion of Britain in AD 43. The Romans founded the fort now known as Richborough Castle and the larger settlement of Rutupiae around it. The present-day hamlet comprises Richborough Farm, Richborough Castle Farm, King's Head Farm and several more recent properties. It is within the council area of Dover (Kent).
