Rhydwaedlyd is a former hamlet that is now an urban locality in Cardiff, Glamorgan. The hamlet was named from the Rhyd Waedlyd ('Bloody Ford') stream which flows through the area. Iestyn ap Gwrgant, the last native Prince of Morgannwg (Glamorgan), is reputed to have fallen in a battle in 1093 to the north of the present day Ty-Gwyn Road. The area is within the council area of Cardiff.
