Reddish, Lancashire
Reddish is a town in Lancashire. Reddish was a small agricultural village in the mid 19th century, after which it expanded rapidly with the development of the cotton industry, steelworks and engineering works. For local government purposes, it was the basis of an urban district from 1894 to 1901 when it became part of Stockport county borough. St Elizabeth's Church was designed by Alfred Waterhouse in the Victorian Gothic style. Houldsworth Mill was constructed in 1865 for the prominent mill owner Henry Houldsworth. The town is within the council area of Stockport
