Redcar, Yorkshire
Redcar is a seaside town in Yorkshire, in the North Riding. Redcar originated as a fishing town in the 14th century. It became a tourist resort with the opening of the Middlesbrough to Redcar Railway in 1846. The Clock Tower is a memorial to King Edward VII, a regular visitor to Redcar. The town lies within the council area of Redcar and Cleveland.
