Red Hall, Antrim

Red Hall is a country house, located within a substantial estate near Ballycarry, County Antrim. It is within the townland of Redhall, in the civil parish of Templecorran. The house is a three-storey, three-bay house with single storey wings, and an attic storey. The building in a classical style which displays on its exterior the distinctive proportions of the Georgian period, overlaid by ornamentation characteristic of the Victorian period. There are 17th-century roof timbers and a 17th-century staircase. In 1609 William Edmonstone of Duntreath, Stirlingshire, secured a lease from John Dalway. The house may date from that period or even earlier. It is within the council area of Mid and East Antrim.
