Ravernet, Down

Ravernet is a village, lying on the south bank of the Ravernet River in County Down. It is within the townland of Ravernet, in the civil parish of Blaris. John Sinton purchased a linen mill here in 1873 and from it developed the Ravernette Weaving Company, building houses and a schoolroom to accommodate his workers and their families. The village is within the council area of Lisburn and Castlereagh.
