Raventhorpe, Yorkshire

Raventhorpe is a deserted mediæval village near Cherry Burton, Yorkshire, in the East Riding. The settlement consists of a central road, defined by a hollow way flanked by banks or ditches, and in other areas as a raised linear bank flanked by ditches. Mediæval ridge and furrow is also visible. Raventhorpe may have been a small hamlet of Leconfield, possibly destroyed with the enlargement of Leconfield Park. It is within the council area of East Riding of Yorkshire.
