Radyr, Glamorgan

Radyr is a village in Glamorgan which, following post-war house building, is sometimes considered an outer suburb of Cardiff. The original village is centred around the 12th century St John the Baptist church and Radyr Court, though this rea is often now referred to as 'Danescourt' after the housing estate built around the church. The term 'Radur' is now usually taken to refer to the suburban area to the north of this, around Radyr Station. Radyr was the childhood home of author Roald Dahl. It is within the council area of Cardiff.
