Quarry Bank, Staffordshire
Quarry Bank is a large urban village in Staffordshire, within the Black Country. It lies between Cradley Heath and Brierley Hill. Once a rural area, industrial development started from the 17th century. For local government purposes, from 1895-1934, it was the basis of Quarry Bank urban district, during which time there was substantial housing development. It is known for is its long steep High Street, up the "Bank" which gives the town its name. It is within the council area of Dudley.
