Princes Risborough is a historic market town in Buckinghamshire. The town sits sheltered beneath the scarp slope of the Chilterns. Great Risborough was a royal manor in Saxon times. It became known as Princes Risborough after the 32 year tenure of the Black Prince as lord of the manor. Princes Risborough Manor House is an elegant 17th-century house. The town is overlooked by the Whiteleaf Cross, carved in the chalk of the hillside. St Mary's Church dates from the 13th century. The town is within the council area of Buckinghamshire.
