Portslade, Sussex

Portslade is a suburban village in Sussex. Despite becoming suburbanised in the 20th century, Portslade retains a village character with flint buildings, a village green and the 12th century church of St Nicolas. Portslade Old Manor is rare example of an extant Norman manor house. The village is now sometimes known as Portslade Village to differentiate it from Portslade-by-Sea which developed on the coast to its south in the 19th century. It is within the council area of Brighton and Hove.
