Portchester, Hampshire
Portchester is a village in Hampshire. It lies at the northern end of Portsmouth Harbour. The fort of Portus Adurni has been claimed to be the best-preserved Roman fort north of the Alps. The mediæval Portchester Castle was built within the Roman fort. It is within the council area of Fareham (Hampshire).
