Portballintrae, Antrim
Portballintrae is a seaside village on the north coast of County Antrim. It is within the townlands of Bushfoot and Ballintrae, in the civil parish of Dunluce. In the 17th century Portballintrae was a small fishing village. A Customs House was opened to serve nearby Dunluce Castle. Seaport Lodge, an elegant two-storey villa, was constructed around 1790 as a holiday home for the Leslies of Leslie Hill. The settlement slowly grew to become a resort during the 19th century. The Old Coastguard Station dates from 1874. The village saw rapid development from the 1970s. The village is within the council area of Causeway Coast and Glens.
