Pokesdown, Hampshire

Pokesdown is a former village that is now an eastern suburb of Bournmeouth, Hampshire. The village expanded rapidly after the opening of Pokesdown railway station in 1895. It became the basis of Pokesdown urban district in 1895 but was part of Bournemouth county borough by 1901 became considered a suburb of Bournemouth after that. It is within the council area of Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole
