Pocklington, Yorkshire

Pocklington is a small market town in Yorkshire, in the East Riding. It lies at the foot of the Yorkshire Wolds. The inhabitation of Pocklington as a site is thought to date back to the Bronze Age. Pocklington's prosperity in the Middle Ages resulted from it being a local centre for the trading of wool. The town's skyline is dominated by a 15th-century tower of All Saints church. The town is within the council area of East Riding of Yorkshire.
