Plympton St Maurice, Devon
Plympton St Maurice (also known as Plympton Erle) is an ancient borough and stannary town, now forming a part of the larger town of Plympton, Devon. Plympton Castle is a Norman motte-and-bailey castle built by the de Redvers family. The Church of St Maurice is also of Norman origin. Fore Street is lined with mediæval buildings, including The Old Rectory (early 17th century), the Guildhall (1688) and Tudor Lodge (late 17th century). Plympton St Maurice is within the council area of Plymouth.
