Pitsea, Essex
Pitsea is a former village that is now an urban area in Basildon, Essex. It is recorded as 'Piceseia' in Domesday. It was one of four existing villages incorporated into the post-war new town of Basildon. The tower of the 13th-century church of St Michael, situated on Pitsea Mount, is a prominent landmark. The area is within the council area of Basildon (Essex).
