Petersham, Surrey

Petersham is a village in Surrey. It lies close to the Thames, south of Richmond, provides the foreground of the scenic view from Richmond Hill across Petersham Meadows. It appears in appears in Domesday as 'Patricesham'. The current St Peter's Church dates mainly from the 16th century, although it believed there was chuch on the site in Saxon times. Sudbrook House (early 18th century) is a fine example of Palladian architecture. The village is within the council area of Richmond upon Thames.
