Peterlee, Durham
Peterlee is a town in County Durham. It was founded as a new town in 1948 and named after the celebrated Durham miners' leader Peter Lee. The Apollo Pavilion is a piece of public art, named after the Apollo moon landings, which was designed by British artist and architect Victor Pasmore and completed in 1969. The town is within the council area of County Durham.
