Perivale is a town in Middlesex. Originally known as 'Little Greenford' or 'Greenford Parva', the parish and its hamlet by the River Brent were known by 1508 as 'Pyryvale'. It remained a hamlet around the 12th century St Mary's Church into the 20th century. Industrial and residential development followed the opening of Perivale Alperton tube station in 1903, Perivale Halt railway station in 1904 and especially, the routing of the A40 (Western Avenue) through the area in the 1930s. The famous Art Deco Hoover Building was opened in 1933. Horsenden Hill is a large park at the northern end of Perivale. The town is within the council area of Ealing.
