Penketh, Lancashire
Penketh is a suburban village in Lancashire. Penketh grew in the 19th century due to the crossing over the Mersey at Fiddlers Ferry and the building of the Sankey Canal. During the later part of the 20th century, the urban area around Warrington spread out to Penketh such that it is now often considered a suburb of that town. It is within the council area of Warrington.
