Park Hill, Lancashire
Park Hill was a 15th-century farmhouse at Barrowford in Lancashire. Park Hill was a working farm for most of its existence and grew from a mediæval timber-framed building to the house of today. The Bannister family settled at Park Hill in the 1400s. One of their descendants, Sir Roger Bannister, became the first man to run a mile in less than four minutes. Later the Swinglehursts, who occupied part of the house from the late 18th century, built the Georgian extension to the house. It is now home to the 'Pendle Heritage Centre' and includes a Garden Tearoom, 18th-century Walled Garden, Cruck Frame Barn, a Parlour shop, Tourist Information Centre, Pendle Arts Gallery and a Conference Centre. It is a Grade II listed building. It is within the council area of Pendle (Lancashire).
