Oxmoor Dikes, Yorkshire

Oxmoor Dikes is a prehistoric linear boundary, situated on the southern slopes of the Tabular Hills near Allerston, Yorkshire, in the North Riding. Oxmoor Dikes runs north-east to south-west between the top of the steep slope into Troutsdale and the head of Given Dale. It has three steep-sided V-shaped ditches which run between four parallel banks and it has an overall width between 90ft and 125ft. The ditches are up to 7ft deep. Oxmoor Dikes is continuous with Givendale Dike to its south-west, although their junction is obscured by a modern track. The monument is within the council area of North Yorkshire.
