Oxley, Staffordshire
Oxley is a suburban village in Staffordshire. It is listed in Domesday as 'Oxelie'. It remained a hamlet along the Wolverhampton to Stafford road until the 1930s, from which time it has seen large-scale housing development, effectively becoming a suburb of Wolverhampton. Oxley Manor, an ancient manor house rebuilt in 1854, was demolished in 1929. The village is within the council area of Wolverhampton.
