Orangefield, Down

Orangefield is an urban area in east Belfast, County Down. It is within the townland of Multyhogy, in the civil parish of Knockbreda. Orangefield House was built around 1857 for John Blakiston-Houston, replacing an 18th century mansion of the same name. The house was surrounded by a large demesne. Much of this was developed in the 1930s as the Orby housing estate. The remainder was acquired by Belfast Corporation in the 1950s for schools and playing fields.
