Oliver's Battery, Hampshire
Oliver's Battery is a suburban village in Hampshire. It forms an outer suburb of Winchester. The area was developed for housing in the 20th century. It is named from an iron age hillfort within the settlement, the name of the fort dating from the civil war when Cromwell is believed to have used the fort as an encampment during his siege of Winchester. It is within the council area of Winchester (Hampshire).
