Old Market Hall, Shropshire
Old Market Hall is a Tudor market hall in Shrewsbury, Shropshire. A market was held on the site from the mid 13th century. A first market hall was built in the Square in 1566-7. The existing market hall, which replaced it, was built in 1596-1597. The ground floor was used as a corn exchange. The first-floor was used to sell wool. During the 1870s, the first floor was converted to a magistrates’ court. In 2024 the building was converted to a cinema and café. It is within the council area of Shropshire.
