Old Gorhambury House, Hertfordshire
Old Gorhambury House is a ruined Elizabethan mansion near St Albans, Hertfordshire. It is a leading and early example of the Elizabethan prodigy house. Built in 1563–68 by Sir Nicholas Bacon, Lord Keeper, it was visited a number of times by Queen Elizabeth. It is within the council area of St Albans (Hertfordshire).
