Old Goole, Yorkshire

Old Goole is an area of the town of Goole, Yorkshire, in the West Riding. It lies on the River Ouse to the south of the Dutch River. It was the original settlement of Goole, established after the diversion of the River Don northwards to the Ouse in 1626-1629 by Dutch civil engineer Cornelius Vermuyden. It is within the council area of East Riding of Yorkshire.
