Old Colwyn, Denbighshire

Old Colwyn is a town in Denbighshire. (On Definition B of the Historic Counties Standard, the western part of the town lies within a detached part of Caernarfonshire, locally in Denbighshire.) Originally called "Colwyn", during the 19th century the town became increasingly known as "Old Colwyn" to distinguish it from the newly formed town of Colwyn Bay (initially called "New Colwyn") to the west.The town lies within the council area of Conwy.
