Oakwood, Middlesex

Oakwood is a suburban area in the north of Southgate, Middlesex. Once a part of Enfield Chase and then the grounds of Oak Lodge, Southgate council acquired the land in the 1920s and invented the name ‘Oakwood’ for the estate it opened in 1927. Further developments followed in the 1930s. Oakwood tube station opened in 1933. Oakwood is within the council area of Enfield.
