Norwich Cathedral, Norfolk

Norwich Cathedral (formally the Cathedral Church of the Holy and Undivided Trinity) is a Church of England cathedral in Norwich, Norfolk. It is the seat of the Bishop of Norwich. It was begun in 1096 by Bishop Herbert de Losinga after the see was transferred from Thetford. Much of the present church is Norman. It is constructed of flint and mortar and faced with a cream-coloured Caen limestone. The cloisters, begun in 1297, are the second largest cloisters in England. The 315ft spire dates from 1480 and is the second tallest in England. The cathedral is within the council area of Norwich (Norfolk).
