Northwood, Middlesex

Northwood is a town in the north-west of Middlesex, along the border with Hertfordshire. Northwood was a small hamlet until the opening of Northwood Station on the metropolitian line in 1887, following which the town grew around the station, east of the hamlet. Holy Trinity Church (1854) was constructed in a Victorian Gothic style by S.S. Teulon. Northwood and Pinner Cottage Hospital was built in 1926 as a memorial to the Great War. The town is within the council area of Hillingdon.
