Northfield, Worcestershire

Northfield is a town in Worcestershire, also forming a part of Birmingham's southern suburbs. During the 19th century when it became an important centre for nail making. The town expanded rapidly with the opening of the Austin Motor Company factory at nearby Longbridge in 1905. During the 20th century it became part of Birmingham's southern suburbs. Northfield Manor House was formerly the home of George and Elizabeth Cadbury. St Lawrence's church dates from the 12th century. The town is within the council area of Birmginham.
