North Stifford, Essex
North Stifford is a village in Essex. Until the mid 20th century, the village was known just as Stifford, the 'North' being added to differentiate it from the residential area of South Stifford which was constructed in the south of the civil parish of Stifford from the inter-war period. The Church of St Mary the Virgin dates back to the 12th century. The village is within the council area of Thurrock.
