North Prospect, Devon
North Prospect (often known by its original name of Swilly) is an urban area in the east of the Devonport area of Plymouth, Devon. The area was developed as a council estate in the 1920s and named Swilly from the mansion house formerly on the site. It was designed as a garden suburb on high ground overlooking Devonport Dockyard and the Tamar. The estate was renamed North Prospect (the name of a former hamlet at the north of the estate) in the 1970s. The area was subject to large-scale demolition and redevelopment in the 2010s. It is within the council area of Plymouth.
