Norbury Park, Surrey
Norbury Park is a historic estate and a Georgian manor house near Mickleham, Surrey. The manor possibly dates back to Saxon times. In 1766 the estate was sold to William Locke, a London art critic. He abandoned the old manor house on the floodplain of the River Mole and haD the current house built to a design by Thomas Sandby. The parkland was bought by Surrey County Council in 1930 and has remained in local authority hands, while the house has remained in private hands. The house and parkland are within the council area of Mole Valley (Surrey).
